Now Serving Omaha presents Always Travel
for the Original. The inventor always knows how to do it best. The creator does it with a little more pride. It’s why people go to Boston for the chowder, Chicago for the deep dish and thousands migrated to Omaha for the Reuben. The
Reuben was invented at the Blackstone Hotel in the 20s during a late night
poker game when the high rollers needed the chef’s to ante up. He returned with
corned beef, sauerkraut, Russian dressing and Swiss cheese on toasted rye bread.
Sounds like it shouldn’t work but it does, it really does. That’s the official
story and we’re sticking to it. Don’t let those New Yorker’s tell you any different.
So we invite you, dear viewer, to savor the Reuben on its home turf and place an
important stamp in your foodie passport. As always, let us know what you think. Comment below, troll responsibly and stay tuned for the next episode.
